2. Design and print a suitable menu design for the occasion
3. Identify the appropriate recipes and adapt for school cookery usage
4. Translate the menu design and follow the recipe to create the required meal
Materials:
- Multiple computers, printer
- Software word processing, graphics
- Colored paper
- Recipe books
- Equipped Home Economics center
- Ingredients
Time required: One Week
Procedure:
- Discuss planning meals generally providing the student with an overview of acceptable practices
- Provide students with attached menus
- Create a written menu to include
- Appropriate color paper
- Correct menu format
- Appropriate outside cover for theme
- Decorate according to theme
- Appropriate size print, font style for theme
- Correct spelling
- Using internet and recipe book to find appropriate recipes for menu
- Prepare menu in school kitchen and serve according to chosen theme including
- Tablecloth
- Decorations
- Serving plates
- Table settings
- Garnishing
