Grade Level(s):
4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12
Subject(s):
-
Physical Education/Team Sports
Materials:
- four to six frisbees
- access to a basketball court
Procedure:
The class is divided into two teams. Team #1 stays on
one half-court and
the other team uses the other half-court. The object of the game is to
throw the frisbees and try to hit the basketball backboard located on the
opposite side of the court. Points
are scored depending on what happens. Points are as follows: -
1 point - backboard hit outside the small square
-
2 points - backboard hit inside the small square
-
4 points - basket made off backboard (not easy)
-
6 points - frisbee goes directly into basket [very hard to do]
Author Discussion: You can set your own points to win. I usually use
50 as the winning score unless the class is having a hard time -- then
I
use 20 as the winning score. Instead of frisbees, you can use
volleyballs, footballs, wiffle balls, or any other objects you
have
available as long as they do not present a safety hazard. This is an
original game
I made up. My
classes like it a lot.
